Plastic or fabric mulches are ok, but should be cleaned up at the end of the season. If you plan to use metal stakes, please paint them a bright color so they are easy to see at the end of the season.
Water conservation is important, particularly in late summer. Please use mulch when possible. Soaker hoses and hand watering is recommended.
Plant tall plants (sunflowers, peas, pole beans, etc.) in the middle of your garden, so they won't shade neighboring gardens.
Please keep trash, diseased plants, and sticks and stones out of the compost pile. There are other piles for diseased plants and rocks. Trash barrels are not available at the garden, so please throw away trash at home.
At the end of the season, please remove all non-biodegradable materials from annual plots, and level trenches or raised beds in preparation for next year's plowing.
